Eco Living
The Eco Living range offers sustainable gardening solutions designed to protect your plants and the environment. Featuring eco-friendly products like Coco Stakes, Coir Twine, Eco Grafting Tape, and more, each item is made from renewable, biodegradable materials. Whether you’re reducing waste or protecting plants, our Eco Living range is the perfect way to garden sustainably.
Our Eco Living products are made from natural, renewable materials like coconut fibre, jute, and coir. They’re biodegradable which means, when you’re done using them, they break down naturally without harming the environment. It’s an easy way to garden more sustainably and reduce waste around your home.
Yes! While the Eco Living range is designed to naturally decompose over time, materials like coir and jute are durable enough to handle sun, rain, and soil contact for months. Whether you’re using coco stakes, twine, or weedmat, they’ll hold up well through the growing season while remaining kind to the earth.
They are perfect for supporting climbing plants, tying stems gently, suppressing weeds, or even decorating pots and garden beds. The range is simple to use and blends beautifully with any garden style. This ensures your outdoor space has a natural, earthy finish while promoting healthier growth.
Pillar’s Eco Plant Tie is made from the same material as our Eco Weed Mat. In summary, it is made from a vegetable extract.
A more in depth description is that it comes from Tapioca plants – its fermented sugars are turned into strands of polylactic acid, which is then spun-woven into the Eco material. The colour comes from a natural vegetable dye.
The best part about this product is that you can just throw it into the garden once you’re done with it! Because it is a part of our Eco Living range, the environmentally friendly non-toxic fabric will break down into the soil and provide additional nutrients.
It is relatively easy to install our Coco Trellis Netting in your garden. Firstly you want to place your netting near or behind the plants you want to support, making sure it is firmly placed into the soil or frame. Then as plants grow, the netting will encourage them to naturally climb, and go into place.
We recommend that you tie your plants tight enough to hold them in place but not damage the leaves/tissue. We have a great biodegradable option available, our Eco Plant Tie is made from a vegetable extract, meaning it will decompose naturally over time which will reduce toxins throughout your garden – this will also be more gentle on your plants as it will stretch as the plant grows.
Of course! Most of our plant support products are actually a part of our Eco Living range. This range consists of products that are made from coconut fibre or renewable, non-toxic material.
Yes they do, they are rolled in natural latex – this is to help enhance the durability and flexibility of the stake.
The main purpose of Coco Stakes is to help support plant growth – particularly in vertical growing plants. They hold water, which is great for overall plant growth and they are made out of specially treated coconut fibre that is then rolled onto poles.
The reason your Coco Stake might start to fray is because of the natural latex that holds the coco fibres in place. If it is located outside and exposed to the elements (sun, wind, rain), they will slowly start to fray and unravel, depending on the weather conditions.
Our normal Coco Stakes are limited to the size you purchase, they are naturally better for smaller plants that won’t grow as tall as you cannot join any together. For taller plants, we recommend the Joinable Coco Stakes as you can purchase multiple and it will allow you to add one on top of the other, making it a higher stake for your plant to grow with.
Our Bendable Coco Stakes are made from specially treated coconut fibres that are then rolled onto poles for the support and protection of many plants. This particular Coco Stake has a bendable core which allows you to train your plants into various shapes and designs. These can be used indoors in pots or even outdoors directly in your garden bed.
These unique designed/shaped stakes are made out of specially treated coconut fibres that are then rolled onto poles for the support and protection of many plants. They are lightweight and help support vertical plant growth – the main difference with this particular stake is that it is great for training plants in pots and it is a decorative looking trainer.
While being similar in the fact they are both Eco Friendly matting. Our Eco Weedmat is a non-woven fabric that is made from vegetable bi-product that is biodegradable and needs a topping to cover (cannot be exposed), whereas our Coco Weedmat is an extra thick matting that is made from 100% natural coconut fibres and essentially can be installed exposed (no toppings required)
This product is designed to stabilise slopes. This should go on top of soil and then you can create holes (if wanted) and plant.
Our Erosion Control Blanket is knitted with fibre press and is made from 100% natural material called coir/jute thread.
Our Grafting Tape is made from biodegradable, compostable material. It is a stretchy, self adhesive that is used to secure plant grafts, protect healing tissue and ensure successful plant propagation. For example: if you had a lemon tree, you can tie limes onto it, to have 2 types of fruit growing at one time.
Hessian is made from natural plants, it is strong and will last for years. Some people actually use it to protect plants in transport.
Unfortunately not, you must create an airpocket between the hessian and the plant – you can do this by using either hoops or stakes. Placing the product directly onto the plant, will restrict air circulation, which is essential for healthy plant growth – it will also not allow the plant to regulate its temperature, which in return can cause damage.
The Pillar Thermal Cover is used to protect plants from frost and harsh sun. The product will still allow air flow, sunlight and moisture to pass through to the plant all while protecting damage from frost and harsh sun.
We would recommend that you remove the Thermal Cover in warmer months – due to the harsh sun, which can deteriorate the product much faster than normal. During the colder months, it would be okay to leave on the plants.
